Abstract: In Russian standards, to simplify the calculation of flange connections, the hypothesis of a non-deformable contact plane is taken as a basis. Achieving this hypothesis requires using sufficiently thick flanges and high-strength bolts. Despite the widespread use of flange connections, the true mechanics of the assembly behavior remain understudied. This study investigates the effect of flange connection assembly parameters on load-bearing capacity. The results provide insights into optimizing flange thickness while maintaining structural integrity. Keywords: flange connection, bent-welded closed profiles, load-bearing capacity, thickness, flange.
