Abstract:
The study investigates the ultimate state of rods made of ideally rigid-plastic heterogeneous material under external pressure linearly varying along the rod's generatrix. The primary relationships describing the ultimate state of heterogeneous rods are considered. Characteristics of the studied relationships and equations along these characteristics are determined. Integrals of the main equations are derived for various conditions of the rod's ultimate state. The problem of the ultimate state of a heterogeneous prismatic rod with a rectangular crosssection under external pressure is studied, assuming that the yield strength linearly depends on the coordinate of the point.
