Abstract:
This paper deals with the propagation of plane monochromatic coupled waves of displacement and microrotation in a linear semi-isotropic micropolar body. An equation is obtained for determining the wave number of a longitudinal and transverse plane monochromatic wave. The dispersion equation is considered, and the necessary conditions for the existence of the dependence of the amplitudes of displacements and microrotations for longitudinal and transverse coupled waves are obtained. A table is given for converting the velocities of longitudinal and transverse waves for various sets of material constants of a semi-isotropic micropolar body.
