Abstract:
An exact solution to the problem of deflections of a rectangular membrane fixed along the entire length of one of its sides and on the opposite side only at corner points is constructed. An analysis of the stress distribution in the membrane is presented, from which it follows that changing the shape of the membrane from square to rectangular leads to a change in the number of points with $\tilde{\sigma }_{\max } $ and an increase in the value of $\tilde{\sigma }_{\max } $.
