Abstract:
The article examines the traditions of teaching mathematics at the natural sciences and humanities faculties of Moscow State University. It discusses what has been preserved and what and why has been lost during the educational reforms of recent decades. It shows the inextricable link between the content and methodology of teaching with large scientific and technical projects carried out in the country. Measures are proposed to change the situation for the better.
