Abstract: Main results of investigations obtained in Kazan State University within a theory of the filtrational consolidation are reviewed. A concept of generalized solution in problems of the saturated porous medium mechanics is determined. An existence and uniqueness of such solution, its stability in respect to the input data are proved. The extension of standard models is developed with taking into account the formation of the incomplete saturated state in zones of unloading in the porous matrix. Some new problems of porous medium mechanics are discussed.
