Abstract: The $\mathrm{k}$-$\varepsilon$ turbulent mixing model with several limitations on turbulence generation is realized in EGAK technique in Eulerian variables. This technique was used to study the evolution of turbulence both at the interface of two different gases and in a homogeneous medium. The calculation results are compared with the corresponding measurements in the experiments. The question of the applicability of a particular limitation in different problems is analyzed.

Keywords: turbulent mixing, Rayleigh-Taylor instability, shock wave, numerical simulation, $\mathrm{k}$-$\varepsilon$ model.
