Abstract:
The paper presents a new model of traffic flows based on the cellular automata theory,
taking into account the effects of over-acceleration and speed adaptation inherent in real
features of traffic flows. The focus is on the choice of driving strategies, reflected in safe distance and acceleration value during acceleration and braking. The behavior of individual drivers may differ when changing lanes, moving forward along the lane, entering the
main road from the secondary one. These features are taken into account when developing the model. To verify the model, test calculations were carried out, the simulation results are presented.
