Abstract: The paper is devoted to mathematical modeling of propagation of the sound beams of finite amplitude in nonlinear dissipative medium, as well as to the study of constructed discrete model. We used a method of splitting by physical processes. When constructing a discrete model, preference is given to monotone schemes. The effects of focusing in a nonlinear dissipative medium are researched.

Keywords: Khokhlov–Zabolotskaya–Kuznetsov equation, splitting scheme, the scheme with weights, a numerical experiment, the sound beam, diffraction, nonlinearity, dissipation.
