A Godunov scheme in MHD problems with transverse magnetic field

Abstract: Godunov type schemes using the solution of the initial discontinuity evolution problem in the magnetohydrodynamic equations system with infinite conductivity are considered in the cas of transverse magnetic field. The MHD-value relations on the different type discontinuity are analyzed. The results of the one-dimensional tests and two-dimensional calculations of the plasma flow in the channel and in the compression zone of the quasi-steady-state high current plasma accelerator are presented.
