Abstract: The paper investigates the questions of mathematical simulation of acoustic flow fields in supersonic viscous compressible gas flows. The corresponding numerical technique is built on the base of linearized kinetically consistent finite difference schemes. The numerical algorithm proposed is adapted to its usage on multiprocessor distributed memory computer systems. To study internal properties of flow, a numerical procedure of flow acoustic “tomography” is introduced. The paper presents the results of prediction of acoustic noise propagation in supersonic gas flows around a rectangular cavity. The data obtained testifies the advantages of using parallel computers for the numerical solution of aeroacoustics problems and appears in a good compliance with experiments.
