Abstract: An efficient and practical method for a scalable synthesis of 3-arylbutadiene sulfones deals with the ligand-free Heck–Matsuda reaction of sulfolene with aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates followed by triethylamine-promoted double bond shift.
