Abstract: It was experimentally shown that the flame penetration limit, expressed by the diameter of the orifice, is less for a single asymmetrical obstacle (< 15mm under our conditions) than for a single symmetrical obstacle (20mm). It was revealed that the penetration limit increases with an increase in the number of obstacles with asymmetrical openings.

Keywords: ignition, laminar flame, flame penetration limit, planar obstacle, asymmetrical opening, orifice, Navier–Stokes equations.
