Abstract: For the first time, high-frequency electron spin resonance spectra were measured for a single crystal of CaCuSi4O10 (the ancient inorganic pigment Egyptian blue) at helium temperatures. In contrast to earlier experiments performed with polycrystalline samples, our measurements allowed us to discover the anisotropy of the linewidth, which should take place in a low dimensional magnetic system.

Keywords: Egyptian blue, single crystal, ESR spectroscopy, structure, XRD.
