Abstract: The possibility of combining the catalytic properties of W and Mn to increase the activity of supported catalysts in the ozone catalytic oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) was studied. The promotion of 8% W/Al2O3 by 1 wt% Mn led to a significant increase in conversion of n-butane compared to that on reference 8% W/Al2O3 and 1% Mn/Al2O3 even at ambient temperature.

Keywords: ozone catalytic oxidation, Mn, W, VOC abatement, heterogeneous catalysts, bifunctional catalyst.
