Abstract: The interaction of -η⁵-(C₅H₅)LuCI₂ with Na⁺₂(C₁₄H₁₀ ²⁻) or Na⁺(C₁₄H_1O ²⁻) has led to the formation of η⁵-(C₅H₅)LU(C₁₄H₁₀ ²⁻) -2thf (thf = tetrahydrofuran), containing anthracene dianion as a ligand and the structure of the new complex has been established by a low-temperature X-ray diffraction study at 143 K.
