Change in the conductivity of single naked metallic clusters by ligation

Abstract: It is shown by scanning tunnelling microscopy current–voltage measurements that the ligation of Ag_n-clusters by excess (PPh₃) produces a tunnel system based on the resulting Ag_n(PPh₃)_m clusters in which correlated single-electron tunnelling can be realized.
