Two-step mechanism of the laser vaporisation of foam graphite

Abstract: Laser ablation of a foam graphite foil is governed by the splitting off of ‘cold’ weakly bound layers (stacks) of crystallites following the recoil pulses of the thermal vaporisation of the material.
