Abstract: Trifluoroacetic anhydride exotermically reacts with bis(trimethylstannyl)acetylene to form previously unknown 1-trifluoroacetyl-2-trimethylstannylacetylene, which interacts with bromine to produce 1-trifluoroacetyl-2-bromoacetylene.
