Abstract: The binuclear and trinuclear aryl σ-complexes of iron and manganese have been prepared by the palladium-catalysed reactions of m-diiodobenzene, p-diiodobenzene or 1,3,5-triiodobenzene with cyclopentadienyldicarbonyliron and manganese pentacarbonyl anions.
