Abstract: Synthetic conditions for cobalt-doped chalcopyrites Cu1 – x/2In1 – x/2CoxSe2 were modified by adding a stage of fast temperature quenching from 1000 °C to cause significant ferromagnetism. Ferromagnetism persisted even at room temperature, and it was characterized by coercivity up to 140 Oe.

Keywords: chalcopyrite, ferromagnetism, diluted magnetic semiconductors, CuInSe2, cobalt.
