Abstract: The reaction of chrysenequinone with phenylacetylene in the presence of phosphorus trichloride leads to the formation of a new phosphorus heterocycle, 2,7-dichloro-2-oxo-4-phenylbenzoo-1,2-oxaphosphatriphenylene, whose structure was established by NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction.
