Abstract:
The Schmidt reaction of aryl methyl ketones in ionic liquids (optimally in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium triflate with CF
3
SO
3
H additive) proceeds at 40°C within 10–30 h to give the corresponding acetanilides in good yields.
