Abstract: Guanidine hydrochloride and urea have different effects on the surface properties of lysozyme solutions due to different interaction mechanisms between the protein and denaturants: an increase in the guanidine hydrochloride concentration leads to noticeable changes in the dynamic surface elasticity, while the main effect of urea consists in a significant drop of the static surface tension.
