Alkylation of Chlorin p₆ N-hydroxycycloimide with the use of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene

Abstract: The hydroxyl group of N-hydroxycycloimide in a chlorin macrocycle is easily alkylated with haloalkanes in the presence of 1,8-diaza- bicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene to give chlorin p₆ N-alkoxycycloimides in yields to 80%.
