Abstract: The doping of hydroxyapatite (HAp) with 10 or 20 wt% titanium monoxide (TiOy), substoichiometric TiO0.92 or super-stoichiometric TiO1.23, leads to a considerable reduction in the initial temperature of composite compaction and to an increase in the microhardness and density of the composite material, as compared to plain HAp.
