Simulations of emulsion stabilization by silica nanoparticles

Abstract: The Langevin dynamics simulation was used for studying the mechanisms of Pickering emulsion stabilization. The ranges of kinetically stable emulsions, unstable to coalescence, flocculated emulsions with silica nanoparticles bridging oil droplets, and emulsions with aggregated silica nanoparticle networks separating oil droplets were determined.
