Sequence of bromination of (E)-4,4-dimethyl- 6-isobutylidenecyclohex-2-en-1-one

Abstract: The bromination of (E)-4,4-dimethyl-6-isobutylidenecyclohex-2-en-1-one with molecular bromine occurs first at endocyclic double bond and next at the exocyclic one.
