Abstract: Europium complexes with heterotopic hexadentate ligands based on 2,2’-bipyridyl-6,6’-dicarboxamide exhibit bright long-lived luminescence at 618 nm as well as extremely low solubility (< 1×10–4 m) in polar solvents.
