Ignition of hydrogen–air mixtures over Pt at atmospheric pressure

Abstract: It is shown that metallic Pt acts mainly as a heat source in the reaction of hydrogen combustion. The composition of the surface layer changes during ignitions (from PtO2 to the composition exhibiting properties different from PtO2).
