Abstract: Derivatives of phenanthro[1,2-d]azepine, a previously unknown heterocyclic system, can be easily obtained from aporphine alkaloids by successive pyridine–pyridine and pyridine–azepine recyclizations. The starting glaucine was used as an illustrative example.
