Synthesis of cyclic norspermidine derivative of protohemin IX

Abstract: A simple synthesis of cyclic norspermidine derivative of protohemin IX without the use of selective protecting groups has been developed. The obtained water-soluble protohemin IX derivative has antibacterial activity and is non-toxic at a concentration of 250μgml⁻¹.
