Abstract:
Methoxy groups on the fullerene cage in compound C
60 (OMe)
5 Br were displaced by thiol residues of methyl 3-mercaptopropanoate thus leading to C
60 (SCH
2 CH
2 CO
2 Me)
5 H product. The structure of the product was established by NMR spectroscopy.
