Abstract: Nitrofuran-3-carboxylates were obtained by selective oxidation of trans-2,3-dihydronitrofuran-3-carboxylates with manganese dioxide in toluene. The structure of nitrofuran-3-carboxylates was characterized by physicochemical methods, including X-ray diffraction analysis.

Keywords: nitrodihydrofurans, nitrofurans, oxidation, manganese dioxide, X-ray diffraction analysis.
