Abstract: The existence of $\mathrm{Y_{2-\mathit{x}}Ca_\mathit{x}FeTaO_{7-\delta}}$ solid solutions ($\mathit{x}$ = 0 – 0.075) with a pyrochlore-like layered structure was established. The appearance of the magnetic properties characteristic for canted antiferromagnets was observed as a result of structure distortions (space group ${R\overline{\mathrm{3}}}$ $\to$ space group $P\mathrm{3_121}$ associated with a change of composition. $\mathrm{Y_{2-\mathit{x}}Ca_\mathit{x}FeTaO_{7-\delta}}$ exhibits ferromagnetic properties already at 300 K.

Keywords: $\mathrm{Y_2Ca_\mathit{x}FeTaO_7}$, $\mathrm{Ca^{2+}}$, solid solutions, canted antiferromagnets, spin-reorientation transition, Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction.
