Abstract: The possibility of application of an electrooptical system of conversion of mechanical vibrations into electric oscillations based on holographic optical elements in seismometry in considered. The method is distinguished by a high sensitivity and simplicity of implementation. The proposed method for detecting seismic vibrations can form the basis for the development of new original instruments and for effective modernization of operating models of seismodetectors. The possibility of simultaneous operation of an electrooptical converter and a standard seismodetector is envisaged.
