Abstract:
The process of conversion of a capacitor bank energy to the work of plastic deformation of a cylindrical shell as a result of high-voltage discharge in water is investigated, taking into account high-speed strain-hardening of a material. Mathematical simulation of electrodynamic, hydrodynamic, and elastoplastic wave processes in a deformable discharge chamber in geometrically and physically related nonlinear statement is used as the basic method of investigation. The length of the discharge channel, for which a part of the capacitor bank energy transferred to the cylindrical shell is maximal, is determined for the given set of parameters of the dynamic system being analyzed.
