Abstract: The results of studying a 100-kV linear two-section discharge with a distorted electric field are reported. It is shown that the controllability of the discharger throughout the working voltage range is provided by several starting characteristics in accordance with the pressure and composition of a working gas medium. The operational delay is about 100 ns or less, and the delay spread is within 20 ns. In the regular operating mode, the number of channels in the discharger is roughly equal to the number of slits in the sections of an igniter. The obtained results are used for prototyping a ring 100-kV two-section discharger with a distorted electric field. Such a configuration of the discharger makes it impossible to photograph the discharge.
