Abstract: An analytic model is developed and numerical simulation is performed for the operation of a vacuum coaxial line with a bias current. The results of computations make it possible to determine the bias current preventing electron leakage at the front of an incident voltage wave and to predict the “hot” line impedance. This model forms the basis of the method for determining the voltage across a vacuum load with the help of a short-circuited coaxial line with a bias current.
