Abstract:
A theoretical description of the steady-state motion of a large solid aerosol spherical particle moving in a gas under the effect of an intense electromagnetic radiation is given in the Stokes approximation. In considering this motion, it is assumed that the mean temperature of the particle surface may differ substantially from the temperature of the gaseous medium surrounding the particle. In solving gas-dynamics equations, analytic expressions for the photophoretic force and velocity were obtained with allowance for the temperature dependences of the gas density, viscosity, and thermal conductivity.
