Abstract: The processing of the atomic force microscopy images of specific nanostructured electrodes made of different metals shows that the shape of a nanostructure’s peak can be well approximated using a parabolic dependence. The local electric fields and injection currents are calculated using the data on the nanostructured surface of electrodes with the aid of the Fowler–Nordheim dependence. A qualitative analysis is performed and the applicability of the proposed approach in the construction of the electroconvection mass- and heat-exchange devices is demonstrated.
