Abstract: The characteristics of gallium selenide with a ferroelectric liquid crystal in between its layers are studied. The liquid crystal consists of an achiral smectic (a derivative of phenyl benzoate) and a chiral component. The frequency behavior of the specific impedance, permittivity, and loss tangent at different temperatures, in a magnetic field, and under illumination are found.
