Generation of low-frequency radiation under focused laser irradiation of a conductor

Abstract: The theory of generation of the low-frequency radiation due to ponderomotive action of a focused laser pulse that is incident on a conductor is developed. Spectral, angular, and energy characteristics of the low-frequency radiation and the spatiotemporal structure of the low-frequency pulse are analyzed.
