Estimation of thermoelastic deformations in the near-surface layers of condensed media upon absorption of time-modulated laser radiation

Abstract: Nonstationary thermoelastic deformation in the near-surface layers of condensed media are determined in the quasi-static approximation. The deformations are induced by the absorbed laser radiation. A 3D model is used to derive analytical expressions for normal and radial components of the deformation vector of the surface.
