Control over orientational transition in crossed dipole lattices

Abstract: Orientational transitions in lattices with three rows of dipoles are considered. The structures consisting of crossed perpendicular lattices and the conditions for passage of the front orientational transition induced by an external field in a part of the structure through the region of crossing are analyzed. It is found that the propagation of the orientational transition front can be controlled by changing the configuration of the crossing region due to preliminary excitation of another orientational transition in one of the parts of the system or by the reorientation of dipoles located in the crossing region. It is shown that depending on the state of the crossing, it can stop the orientational transition front, transmit it without changing, change its direction, or modify the initial orientational transition to another transition, and also “branch” the transition front and exhibit “noncommutative” properties.
