Abstract:
The paper presents the results of studying the sizes of laser sparks formed during excitation of gas-jet targets based on argon, krypton and xenon by pulsed radiation of a Nd:YAG laser with a pulse duration of 4 ns and a pulse energy of 0.8 J. Images of laser plasma were obtained using an X-ray two-mirror microscope based on a Schwarzschild objective with fivefold magnification, operating at a wavelength of 11.25 nm. Gas-jet targets were studied at a gas pressure at the nozzle inlet of 2–10 bar. The values of spark lengths obtained from the experiment were compared with theoretically calculated values.
