Abstract: The article considers the flow patterns of an electrically-conductive fluid in a 90 degree bend. The magnetic field is directed parallel to the outlet branch of the bend. Magnetohydrodynamic equations in terms of the small magnetic Reynolds numbers approach and the spectral-element method were used. The flow patterns were studied at different values of the Reynolds and the Hartmann numbers, and with regard to different values of the bent radus. A reverse flow was found in the outlet branch of the channel.

Keywords: magnetohydrodynamics, channel flows, spectral-element method.
