Abstract:
In this paper, a mathematical model of a blocky-layered medium is studied. Deformable elastic blocks and thin elastic and viscoelastic interlayers are considered. Viscoelasticity is taken into account to describe wave attenuation. The wave fields in a medium described by the proposed simplified interlayer model are compared to wave fields which were obtained using the equations of the dynamic elasticity theory for interlayers. The developed computational technology is verified for compatibility with the experimental data.
