Magnon mechanism of Josephson coupling in superconductor-ferromagnet-superconductor structures

Abstract: It has been shown that, owing to the electron-magnon interaction in a homogeneously magnetized ferromagnet, Josephson coupling in a superconductor-ferromagnet-superconductor junction persists at distances where the usual proximity effect decreases exponentially. The expressions for the coupling energy in terms of the parameters of the magnon spectrum have been derived, thus providing an estimate of the maximum superconducting current.
