Abstract:
The problem of the «upper edge» of the energy spectrum of giant air showers (GASs) with $E_0\geq 10^{19}\,$eV is considered. The almost complete absence of GASs with the highest energies ($E_0\geq 10^{20}\,$eV) at the Yakutsk array and their considerable number at AGASA are discussed in view of the fact that both arrays have similar basic detectors and similar procedures of data processing are being used.
